Where Rooibos come from
Our wonder herb rooibos (ROY-BOSS) meaning ‘red bush’ grows nowhere else in the world but the Cederberg region in South Africa. The Cederberg is a global biodiversity hotspot and it’s where our red tea grows naturally in harmony with its surroundings. More than 300 years ago, locals first discovered that the needle-like leaves of the Rooibos plant made a refreshing brew, and the rest they say is history. Since then, we can’t get enough of the stuff, and today it is probably our nation’s favorite drink.

“I was really excited when I found this tea. Rooibos is my favorite tea. I can drink it all day because it has 0 caffeine. I like drinking it hot, and iced. My two year old even likes to drink it iced. It is great for him because again it has no caffeine, and it has a naturally sweet flavor, unlike other teas, which can be bitter. You can add honey or even apple juice to sweeten it a bit if your kid doesn't like it plain. I steeped it over night and now I have it ready for either of us to drink iced. If I drink it hot, I like to add a little milk and a little honey just to make it creamy. Seriously the best rooibos I have had, and I drink a lot of tea.”

“I was hesitant to buy such a large quantity of tea without tasting it first, but now I'm glad I did. The flavor of this tea is decidedly better than the one I've been able to buy at a supermarket. I've been drinking three cups of this every day! I can't have coffee because of the strong effect any amount of caffeine has one me. This tea isn't fruity or floral, tangy or overpowering. It's like coffee: mixing well with a bit of milk and sugar for a comforting hot beverage. I've been using flavored syrups in it, the same kind used in coffee. Try it with oatmilk too! What a great combination.”
